Anna Phaidra is an award-winning artist and researcher specializing in illustration, woodcarving, and installation. Her work attends to living, extinct, and speculative beings through an interdisciplinary lens—bringing together historical symbolism and folklore with environmental humanities research. She holds a BA and BFA at Leiden University and the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague respectively, and is currently completing her MA project on geological worlding and unworlding at Humboldt University. She is one of the founders of Sassafras—an experimental digital publication platform to be launched in June 2026, and in her free time volunteers as librarian for Colorama Print. She lives and works in Berlin.
